Luisa Frey

English teacher, tutor, writing specialist and academic support teacher, Luisa Frey also has the unique perspective of a professional travel writer, her occupation for many years before becoming a high school English teacher. She had hundreds of articles published in national publications such as USA Today, FamilyFun magazine, Fodor’s Guidebooks and many more.

Because of these experiences, she brings with her a very practical approach to the writing process, along with a unique pattern format of writing known as the ABCDE© method. It has been hugely successful in Luisa’s classrooms, tutoring sessions and small-group, academic support classes. Due to the ease with which students learn to write while using the ABCDE© writing format, the English department at Luisa’s high school has adopted the method for all its general education and remedial-level classes.

Most importantly, Luisa discovers ways to meet her students where they are and gently bring them to a level of competence that will exceed their expectations. She does this through her deep respect for her students, her ability to break down lessons into organized parts and her lifelong love of writing and editing.
