However, with guidance from Luisa Frey – an experienced college application essay teacher, professional writer, high school English teacher and tutor – the process can be smooth, easy, and yes, even fun!
Highlights include:
- Reviewing examples of top essays to familiarize students with winning essay formats
- Discussing the Common App essay prompts
- Brainstorming ideas regarding WHAT to write about
- Creating an outline together so students can write their rough draft independently
- Editing the rough draft and polishing it for submission
Hourly fee: $110 per hour. Most students need three to four hour-long sessions, from start to finish
Where: The tutoring can be done online by way of shared Google docs OR can be done in person, if the student lives in the NJ/NYC region.
